Some results from Green Building Insider's recent survey of state American Institute of Architects (AIA) chapters have raised some eyebrows. Specifically, a survey question inquiring about the chapters' level of concern for future green construction after American Recovery and Reinvestment Act funding runs out surprised AIA's chief executive officer and a Green Building Alliance official. Survey results and reaction are included in this edition of GBI.
Also in this issue, congressional legislation that could spur building energy retrofits has passed the House, six states have begun an initiative to promote energy efficiency in buildings, a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Platinum Plus home in New Jersey is expected to be completed soon, the Sustainable Buildings Industry Council has added resource pages to the Whole Building Design Guide, two healthy housing organizations plan to merge, and there is news to report involving solar equipment for buildings.
There is still time to participate in a survey that Allen Matkins partner Bryan Jackson is conducting addressing green building risks, costs, certification processes, and other areas. The survey can be accessed through the following link: http://Tinyurl.com/Yfvjohj.
